TAG ARTS ART ADVISORY SERVICES was created in 2007 by Emily Greenspan. She initially started her firm while living in New York but is currently based in Los Angeles. Emily has been around the arts her whole life. Her family owned Newel Art Galleries, a prestigious antiques gallery in New York, where she worked for several years. Before that, she was an editor at Elle Decor magazine.

For the past 30 years, Emily has been buying and selling contemporary art. When Emily considers buying a piece of art, she uses “both her eyes and her ears.” Her market knowledge and contacts determine whether a piece can be acquired for the right price, keeping in mind that purchasing art ties up real capital.

Furthermore, Emily assists clients who wish to downsize their collections, facilitating in the process of dispersing artwork through charitable gifts, auctions and secondary market sales. On occasion, she will also strategize with individual artists, offering development initiatives, innovative ideas and positioning guidance.

Additionally, TAG ARTS is willing to consider purchases and acquisitions of secondary artwork by many of today's leading emerging, mid-career and blue-chip artists. Artists that we are currently interested in include Mary Corse, Jacob Hashimoto, Jonas Wood, Harland Miller, Ed Ruscha, among others.

Emily is an active contributor to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Exhibitions Fund. She was also instrumental in launching their Personal Connections programming, where individuals struggling with early-stage dementia and Alzheimer’s disease have the opportunity to create meaningful connections with works of art. She was also involved with planning the Santa Monica Museum of Art’s annual INCOGNITO event and is a supporter of their new home in downtown Los Angeles, re-launched as the Institute of Contemporary Art, LA. She is an active supporter of the American Friends of the Israel Museum, the Hammer Museum and the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen, CO. Emily serves on the Art Advisory Committee at Keck Medicine of University of Southern California and sits on the board of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. She also serves on the Sam Fox School National Council at Washington University in St. Louis and sits on the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum Art Collection Committee.
